Arcos fishing festival 2019

Twenty one anglers made the long journey down to Arcos De La Frontera near Serville for a four day fishing festival, starting on Monday 7Th October.

 The anglers were all members of several local clubs, Abbey Anglers, Rod N reels and Carp R us. We stayed in a lovely hotel Meson De Molinera which is situated directly on the Embalse De Arcos.

Day one was won by Bradley Cannon who fished the pole for 35.2kg , 2nd was his father Bill Cannon who used similar tactics for 27.92kg and 3rd was Terry Brindley with 27.44 kg who used paste on the pole . Terry Screen, Dale Smith, Ian Brown, Doug Hornblow and Alan Davies also won their respective sections. We also ran a daily pairs section and this was won by Terry Brindley and Bill Cannon with Mick Hill and Bradley Cannon taking second place

Day two was won by the eventual overall winner of the competition out Dutch competitor Danny Kekhof who used paste on the pole to weigh in a fantastic 71.56kg, 2nd was Terry brindley who used the sane tactics for 42.16kg and Ian Brown was 3rd with 35.04kg using the method feeder with pellet. Further Section wins went to Mick Smith, Bill Cannon and Tony Roper.  The pairs competition was won by Brad Cannon and Danny Kerkof with a combined weight of 104.94kg and 2nd were another Dutchman Win and Terry Brindley.

Day Three saw another victory by the skilful Dutchman Danny Kerkhof who used again used paste tactics to win the match with 44.88kg he was closely followed by his arch rival and close friend Bradley Cannon who weighed in 37.38kg and 3rd was the Welsh wizard Alan Davies with 33.08kg who used a slow sinking feeder. Further section wins went to Andy Stephenson, Ian Brown, and Doug Hornblow. The pairs competition was won again by Brad Cannon and Danny Kerkof and 2nd were again another Dutchman Win and Terry Brindley.

Day four saw a different winner with Alan Davies weighing in 62.26kg, 2nd on the day was Brad Cannon with 54.98kg and 3rd was the old Shrewsbury battler Terry Lazarus Screen who rose off his death bed to weigh in 40.5 kg. Further section wins went to Ian Brown, Andy Stephenson and Mick Smith. The pairs was won by Alan Davies and Brad Cannon who weighed a total weight of 117.24kg and 2nd was Terry Screen and Danny Kerkof,

The overall event was won by Danny Kerkoff with a total weight of 173.34 kg, 2nd was Brad Cannon with 160.94kg and 3rd was Alan Davies with 124.76kg . Full results are show below.
